WHAT’S COVERED IN THE
UNDERSTAND INTERSECTIONALITY AS AN ALLY WORKSHOP:
We are complex individuals with overlapping identities that shape our experiences. To build truly inclusive workplaces, we must move beyond single-category approaches to diversity and understand how these identities intersect. This workshop provides a foundational understanding of intersectionality, equipping allies with the knowledge and tools to recognize its impact, challenge barriers, and navigate these complexities with empathy and effectiveness.
Together we will discuss:
- • What intersectionality is and why it is important now more than ever
- • Common microaggressions experiences people of color and minority groups face in the workplace and ways to call in allies
- • The dangers of assumptions about intersectional experiences and how to be inclusive as an ally
